Smita Sonthalia is a contemporary artist currently based in Singapore, having previously lived and worked in London. Her practice is deeply inspired by nature, particularly the symbolism and freedom embodied by birds. With over two decades of artistic exploration, her work reflects themes of resilience, transformation, and quiet strength. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, Smita combines expressive colour, layered textures, and fluid movement to create emotionally engaging compositions. Birds frequently appear in her paintings as metaphors for hope and renewal. Through her art, she invites viewers to reconnect with nature and rediscover their inner freedom.
