JL.Desert Rose is a Singapore-based multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, painting, and installation. Her practice explores the intersection of material, memory, and sensory perception, often drawing from animals together with natural forms, botanical structures, and cross-cultural visual languages.
Rooted in both Eastern and Western aesthetic traditions, her work navigates the tension between control and fluidity—balancing structured form with organic movement.
Influenced by ink wash philosophy and material-driven processes, she embraces unpredictability as an essential collaborator, allowing glaze, pigment, and surface to evolve beyond intention.
Her recent ceramic works investigate functional objects as sites of quiet transformation. Through subtle color transitions, mineral-like textures, and restrained palettes, she creates pieces that invite touch, contemplation, and everyday intimacy.
Alongside her studio practice, JL.Desert Rose is actively engaged in art education and community-based workshops, integrating creative practice with emotional awareness and therapeutic exploration.
